| If the "I pledge Obama video, causes controversy in the Anglo community,it should cause outrage in the African community! You can view the video here. It seems that the point of contention is that Demi Moore says she pledges to be a servant to the president. Well I can see where that could be a problem with some people. The real issue as I see it is what some of the African's (here after called lost souls) in the video are pledging. The first shock I got was when I heard what a former New York defensive end said. (I don't know his name,I don't follow sports, and after what he said it is not worth my time to find his name.) What he said that made me write this is "I pledge to consider myself an American, not an African-American." Some might say that this is about uniting the country right, An even though I have always had a problem with that term (African-American) there is more to this. Another thing to notice is that he is the only one that is not in the center of the frame, Is this just bad camera work or is he on the right side of your screen to make a point? | |||
Any way you look at it this, it is insidious! | |||
| Question: Why didn't they have any other so-called race pledge not to be a hyphenated American. So only Africans (who are now just finding their culture in numbers) should forget their heritage. You might think that i am just following the media and blowing this thing out of proportion. Until about 2:51 seconds into the video and you have another lost soul come on your screen and state. "I pledge to follow a culture of intelligences and not one of ignorance. Now he might be talking about gangster rap because they (the powers that be, like to put out there that it is a culture). Then mix it up with hip hop. Do you think they don't know the power of culture to turn our situation around. This is an attack on African culture, and all the hype about Demi Moore is a smoke screen, mare slight of hand. Obama may not be an African but I am! And I pledge never to be an American and to state it clearly to them in writing! In short you should be pledging to be more of an African not less. Also remember that this the (American culture) is the culture of ignorance. |
