Sound breaks the light barrier

Nothing can travel faster than light… except for sound. This is the claim of some US physicists, who say they have designed an unusual waveguide to make sound move at “superluminal” speeds (Appl. Phys. Lett. 90 014102).

Youtube UFO

People have been posting Images like this on Youtube for a long time, all the time others have been shaking their head and smiling or in some cases outright laghter can be heard. Well, I can see a “I told you so” moment ahead. Because It appears that these devices are real. This invention is a spacecraft with a triangular hull having charged flat plates on the vertical corners of the three sides. The two rear corners are charged to a potential V. The forward corner is charged to a potential −V. The 60° angle on the corner creates a line charge density singularity that produces a huge horizontal electric field pointing from the back to the front of the craft which is also parallel to the sides of the triangle. An array of horizontal slot antennas located on the sides of the triangular hull produce an electromagnetic wave with the electric field polarized in the vertical direction. This combination of fields produces a spacetime force in both the vertical and horizontal directions such that the spacecraft receives a lift force and a force of propulsion.

It’s not a saucer but it’s close enough. Not known to be a working craft. Give it time…

It’s Been reported that an international group of hackers claim they have breached Apple’s iCloud user database and stolen 300 million usernames and passwords. The group has threatened to initiate a widespread factory reset on April 7th, 2017, potentially wiping out data on tens of millions of iPhones and iCloud accounts should Apple fail to pay a ransom.

Smart Dust MaybeThe Future of Involuntary Treatment of the Public

Smart dust is a name given to extremely small computing particles, RFID chips, or other very small technologies.

A popular article from Extreme Tech describes it in the headline: “Smart dust: A complete computer that’s smaller than a grain of sand.” An article from War is Boring is titled “Future Military Sensors Could Be Tiny Specks of ‘Smart Dust’ New technologies allow for extremely small — and ubiquitous — military sensors.” A paper from University of California, San Diego describes smart dust:

“The term “smart dust” originally referred to miniature wireless semiconductor devices made using fabrication techniques derived from the microelectronics industry. These devices incorporate sensing, computing and communications in a centimetre-sized package.”

consider what could happens when sensors, antennas, and even computing equipment can be combined into information gathering devices on the microscale. This is a concept known as “smart dust,” and it’s been kicked around in science fiction and research communities for awhile.

The New Home Batteries

Theres no doubt renewable power generation has made great leaps and bounds lately bringing the cost of power per Kw. down to competitive levels but what about storing all that energy so as to be available on demand or even better yet during peak hours when energy is at it’s most expensive. This whole area of development is just getting started with some exciting possibilities!
